Kilmeena Minor Girls Debutantes

The Kilmeena Minor team captained by Lisa Smith, played their first match on Wednesday, 24 March in Davitt College against Castlebar.

Unfortunately the girls didn’t get the win they had hoped for but should be proud of their work ethic.

All the girls put in a huge performance. A special mention however must go to the following players, Jaimee Geraghty who played in goal. Jaimee had some good saves and strong kick outs.

Also to Katie Hogan who put the first point on the score board for the minors.

A fantastic performance by Becka Walsh her first time playing Gaelic football for any club. Becka is definitely one to watch out for in future games.

It was a very proud day for local girls Lisa Smith, Sarah Hogan, Zoe Bourke and Orla Grealis who were returning to their home club to wear the Kilmeena jersey with pride.

Minor panel were as follows: Lisa Smith, Orla Grealis, Lily Brady, Sarah Hogan, Róisín Hogan, Katie Hogan, Zoe Bourke, Becka Walsh, Róisín Smyth, Justine Moran, Sarah Mulchrone, Lisa Rose, Lucy O’Malley, Nicole McGuire, Rachel Keane, Muireann Cawley, Jaimee Geraghty and Aoife Roache.

This was a historic occasion for the Kilmeena Ladies Football Club to have a minor team in competition after just three years in existence.

The next minor game is at home on Wednesday, 30 March at 6pm. Come along and show your support for the team and their management  Robert Grealis, Packie Keane, Michael Moore and Mentors Majella O'Malley and Bernie Smyth.
